When you take the train from Germany to Denmark, the tracks cross the Kiel Canal over the Rendsburg High Bridge, which is 2.5 kilometres long and 68 meters high, which is already impressive enough for a design built in 1913. However, the most curious component is how the tracks descend to ground level to serve Rendsburg station: through the 360 degree, 4.5 kilometre long Rendsburg loop. While it is fun to ride a train in a circle, it's also fascinating how a neighborhood develloped fully enclosed by this rail loop, called Schleife, which is German for loop!
