This is a Design Museum for the industrial designer David Mellor, who designed a lot of the UK street furniture, including the current traffic lights, and the distinctive pedestrian crossing button box (which I've recently discovered are also used in the UAE!?) as well as bus stops, litter bins, streetlamps etc. It is situated in the very scenic Peak District, near to his home city of Sheffield (known for its stainless steel, hence Mellor's career as a cutlery designer) The museum is very small, more of a display, but contains a mock street scene with his designs, and a really fantastic cafe,…
