At the far left-hand end of the Westbound metro platform towards Aalto University, there is a preserved AEG mechanical flap segment display board The final message commemorates the almost 20 years of faithful service from 1993 - 2012 before they were replaced with modern LCD displays This is a nice piece of in-situ preservation, where a historical “Easter egg” is placed in an otherwise unremarkable station, without negatively impacting passenger experience or wayfinding It certainly brightens up my commute to campus every time I make the effort to walk down the platform to see it I love mecha…
